Professional Development
The professional development SIG aims to bring staff in higher education together to talk through their career experiences, practices, and ambitions relating to student engagement in their teaching and learning support practices.

The SIG focusses on critically assessing lessons learnt through lived experiences, and advice that can be drawn from such lessons. The SIG considers enablers and challenges that staff working in student engagement roles face, so that frameworks in which staff practices can be addressed in relation to individuals’ professional development possibilities and opportunities.

The SIG hosts lunchtime sessions consisting of panels on a set topic or case studies. All events include time for Q&A.

The convenors welcome staff in student engagement roles who have an interest in their personal professional development, or supporting the development of others in such roles, to join the SIG.
